FORTE 155E Rack Mount Type integrated with advanced semiconductor devices and microprocessors.

FORTE155E is a next generation compact SDH multiplexer with the design to enhance circuit density, and cut down on space requirements making it ideal for installation in metropolitan offices where space is scarce, or in outdoor cabinets in remote areas.

The FORTE155 rack mount type supports four individual Optical Multiplexers with 1+1 optical switching protection feature. The equipment adapts four lines of E1/T1 modules to provide 4/8/12/16 lines of circuits, and also supports power redundancy feature for reliable operation.

FORTE 155E uses a 19-inch chassis and can be mounted on a 19-inch, 23-inch or standard ETSI ETR 300 019 rack. Apart from the subscriber line, which will require setup by the users themselves, all wires within the Shelf are ready-for-use. Dust covers can be placed over unused slots. All subscriber lines are linked by wire wrapping. RS-232 and RJ-45 connectors are located at the lower right corner of the shelf, which will provide CIT and NMS interfaces for users.

Management System

FORTE 155E provides three different types of management interfaces, by which field operators may conduct system management functions such as Provisioning, Performance Monitoring, Loopback Test, and Alarm Management. Different interfaces also allow for the configuration of different settings, such as the Service Type of E1/T1 Tributary Modules, the Line Code, and Frame Format, etc..

• A Local Craft Interface (LCI) is provided via the RS-232 connector.
• Management of the Local System, and Remote product settings can be controlled through Panel keyboards and the LCD panel control interface.
• A SNMP Network Management Interface is provided through the RJ-45 connector.
• Provides a Network Management System (NMS) with Graphical User Interfaces (GUI).

Field Operators can use notebooks or PCs as the LCI, to connect to the NMS via RS-232, and conduct Local Operation in a Menu Driven Mode. If a connection is made through LAN, then the user may use the GUI Interface to conduct system management.
