Voice Interface: FXS, Payphone, 2W/4W E&M

FXS/FXO
 FXS
(Foreign Exchange Station) provides traditional
PSTN voice service on MSAP2000 platform. FXS plugged
into the RT shelf (Remote Terminal) will be connected
to the customer’s facilities such as telephone,
FAX machine, analog modem etc.
FXO (Foreign Exchange Office) is installed in
the COT shelf (Central Office Terminal) to provide
sixteen 2-wire switch interfaces. Each shelf allows
16 FXO line cards at most, and therefore can offer
256 interfaces as a maximum. In addition, in order
to meet the needs of the increased number of customers,
MSAP2000 can connect up to 8 shelves by using
the expansion system of ELM and EPM (Expansion
Link and Processing Modules. The maximum capacity
extension can reach 1,890 voice service lines.
• Pay
Phone
On MSAP2000 platform, FXO-P (Foreign Exchange
Office – Pay phone) receives and switches
the billing signals from the polar operation and
12 or 16 KHz. The signaling can be delivered to
FXS-P installed at RT and becomes the corresponding
billing signals so that the billing system of
payphones can be driven.
• 2W/4W
E&M
The E&M service card provides either two-
or four-wire service. It supports four subscriber
line circuits configured for operation in E&M
types I or V. (A special version of E&M will
support various operation type of E&M mode
I, II, III, IV, and V.)
